RACINGLINE AIR FILTER CHOICES
Trifoam® filter versus Cotton filter
Many of RacingLine’s Air Intakes now come with a choice of air filter material. Which is right for you?
TRIFOAM® FILTER UNIT
Faster, for longer
The highest airflow of all filter
types, for the best possible power for more of the time. As a high performance part, regular maintenance is essential to keep it at its very best.

PLEATED COTTON FILTER
Fit and forget
A robust ‘fit and forget’ filter that will last for years. It gives great initial power output but doesn’t have the dust-loading capacity of Trifoam.

TYPES OF FILTERS
Your car comes from the factory with an air filter made of paper. It’s simple, effective, but above all, cheap. And paper is not efficient.
Because you are reading this, you’re probably already interested in improving your car’s breathing by improving its airflow. A RacingLine intake is the obvious choice – but this is where your filter choice starts.
Really, the only two credible choices for a performance intake is a filter media of foam or cotton.

TRIFOAM
FILTER
Considerations for the Trifoam® filter:
-
the best possible airflow for better performance
-
airflow barely deteriorates with dust-loading
-
foam is more delicate and does need TLC
-
after cleaning and reoiling them they’re as good as new
-
they are a lightweight carefully designed genuine motorsport filtration solution
COTTON
FILTER
Considerations for the pleated cotton filter:
-
extremely robust and very long lasting
-
excellent flow characteristics when new
-
no cleaning needed – fit and forget
-
giant surface area and air horn into the pipework
-
beautiful looking!
COTTON
FILTER ‘OVERSOCK’
Want the ultimate from your Cotton Filter?
Our new Cotton Filter ‘Oversock’ combines the best of both. Simply slide the foam oversock over the top of your Cotton Filter and protect the surface layer of the cotton from dust and dirt. When it needs it, the oversock can be cleaned or just replaced to keep the cotton filter at its very best for years.
Currently only for R600 filter.

HOW DO I KNOW IF MY CAR IS 3B ‘MAF’?
Check before you order!
The new 2.0TSI EA888 Gen.3B use a Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF), they require a different version of the R600 intake (VWR12 G7R602) and the Turbo Inlet Hose (VWR12 G7R602ITBLA).
It’s easy to check your car. Does it have this sensor and wiring shown in the picture? That’s the MAF sensor, so make sure you get the correct R600 and hose.
