For MQB and MQB Evo
2.0 TSI Oil Cooler
EA888 Gen.3 & Gen.4.
Because cooler oil means a better-protected engine. RacingLine’s complete kit adds a front-mounted air-to-oil cooler while retaining the factory oil-to-water system.

HIGH EFFICIENCY COOLER
Our 10-row stacked plate design efficiently forces the hot oil through a series of aluminium pressed plates. Heat dissipates as cold air moves across the plates.
PRESSURE CONTROL
Our unique sandwich plate oil take-off includes a clever internal pressure-control valve control to direct oil flow through the cooler at correct flow/volume.
PRECISION MACHINED
Precision machined billet components utilising the latest 5 Axis CNC machines for perfect accuracy, first time, every time.
210 SERIES BRAIDED HOSE
Our oil lines feature an attractive outer nylon braid strengthened by a stainless steel inner weave for maximum resilience. Protective external sheath avoids any rubbing damage in use.
COLD AIR LOCATION
The front-mount location brackets of the RacingLine cooler kit places it in the optimum airflow and ensures that oil temperature drops and excess heat is funnelled out efficiently.
HIGH-FLOW FILTER
The kit includes a pretty special high-flowing oil filter. Made from stainless steel micronic filter cloth with magnetic pre-filtering, capable of flowing 5x more oil than the factory paper filter.
Confirmed applications.

NOTE: 2015 AND OLDER CARS MAY ALSO REQUIRE FITMENT OF VWG PART 06L115678Q (A PLASTIC OIL STEM INSERT). THIS IS A RUNNING UPGRADE FROM VWG DEALERS SO MOST CARS WILL HAVE HAD THIS PART UPDATED DURING EARLIER OIL CHANGES.
So what’s in the
oil cooler kit?

The oil filter.
The Oil Cooler Kit includes a pretty special oil filter. The filter element is made from high-flow stainless steel micronic filter cloth – a medical grade material guaranteed to filter out oil contamination better than paper-based filters, all helping to avoid the risk of resultant engine damage.
- 5 times the flow of comparable paper oil filters
- Consistent filtering across entire filter surface
- Magnetic prefiltering to remove microscopic ferrous materials before they reach the filter itself
The filter itself is a lifetime filter, IF it is very carefully cleaned (see below).
However, if you have any doubts about the cleaning process, the filter is available separately from all RacingLine dealers for servicing. If in doubt about cleaning method, it is always best-practice to change filter with every oil-change.

Bracket options.
The kit comes supplied with two bracket kits. One kit is for Audi S3 8V models, the other is for all other MQB & MQB 'Evo' vehicles.
Mounting for the bracket set requires drilling bolt holes through the front crash bar.

MOUNTING
Method of Inspection and Filter Cleaning.
Firstly the RacingLine oil filter housing has a left hand threaded cap. Using a 32mm socket, remove the cap section (leaving the lower section in place) then remove the filter element ready for cleaning (use a syringe to extract remaining oil). Before beginning the cleaning process, first inspect the filter for debris, any debris will be caught on the outside of the filter element and on the magnet.
Clean the reusable stainless steel element with aerosol brake cleaner, solvent or degreasing agent. If you have an airline, carefully blow air through the filter. (Do not press the compressed air gun against the filter, keep at least a 10mm gap from nozzle to filter) starting from the inside out, then at an angle on the outside of the screen to further remove any remaining particles or cleaning solution.
If you don’t have an airline, let the element air dry. It is also good practice to clean the inside of the filter housing using the same type of cleaner as used on the filter before reassembly.
Please remember: if in any doubt about the cleaning process, do not risk the health of your engine!
Replacement filter units are available from all RacingLine dealers.
Note: newly built engines.
RacingLine does not recommend immediate installation of the 2.0 TSI Oil Cooler kit on a newly rebuilt engine (non-factory rebuilds). Due to the high filtration capabilities of the Stainless Steel Oil Filter, the assembly chemicals typically used by performance engine builders such as Molybdenum paste, engine assembly lube and grease used during engine assembly will be carried in the oil and can restrict filter flow or even lead to it blocking.
Once a minimum running in period of 1000 miles (1600Km) is complete on a freshly rebuilt/assembled engine, followed by a full oil flush and change (using VWG approved oil), the Oil Cooler kit can then safely be installed. The RacingLine Oil Filter should then be inspected and thoroughly chemically cleaned after a further 1000 miles.
Once the Racingline 2.0 TSI oil cooler kit is installed we recommend the Stainless Steel Oil Filter to be replaced or inspected and cleaned at 5000 mile service increments and alongside the vehicle’s normal service milage.
